Event Description:
Join us on Friday, June 11, at 6 pm at the Kansas City Zoo for a conversation with Mr. Alvin L. Brooks, civil rights activist and author of the book “Binding Us Together.” Hear Mr. Brooks reflect on his lifetime of community and public service, as well as share some of the history of Swope Park, home of the Kansas City Zoo, and its relationship with the Black community in Kansas City. This event will be held in the Zoo’s auditorium.

Mr. Brooks will be signing copies of his book in the lobby prior to the event, beginning at 5 pm. Tickets to this event are free, but reservations are required as seats are limited.

Sponsored by The Kansas City Zoo DE&I Committee as a commemoration of Juneteenth.
