Today, The Roasterie is regarded as a trendsetter and tastemaker in the regional coffee scene. Since launching The Roasterie, with an ever-expanding customer base of restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores and an ever-evolving product line, O'Neill opened the first Roasterie Cafe in 2005, just a few blocks from the basement where it all started. The roasting factory is located underneath a Douglas DC-3 airplane at 27th Street and Southwest Boulevard in Kansas City, where he and his Bean Team encourage others to fall in love with the aroma and taste of truly special coffee.
Known as a coffee philanthropist, O'Neill - affectionately known as the Bean Baron - along with his Bean Team, gives back to the Kansas City community through exclusive partnerships with Children's Mercy Hospital and Variety Kansas City. Both organizations provide essential assistance to children in need, and Danny and his passionate Roasterie team members are proud to facilitate their endeavors, committing fully to both of these causes.
O'Neill serves on a number of boards, including the Rockhurst Leadership Council at Rockhurst University; University of Missouri-Kansas City Board of Trustees; and Pembroke Hill School Board of Directors. He is past President of the Specialty Coffee Association of America and resides in Brookside with his family.
