Event Description:
Friendship is made up of shared experiences, special moments, camaraderie, and trust. Interracial friendships have a unique dynamic, and some have even questioned, can Black and White women really be friends? As we continue to explore our thoughts around race, equity and inclusion, we are called to reflect on our own lives and look deeper at our own actions.

Why aren't there more interracial friendships? What are some of the root causes of this seemingly social segregation? How do we show up authentically in our relationships and acknowledge our shared goals and interests?

In this session, Nicole Jacobs-Silvey, President and Founder of Connection Coach KC, and Lindsay Jarquio, Director of Leadership Development at the KC Chamber, will explore some of these questions while hearing from guest speakers about their experiences. The interactive session is designed for networking and small group sharing.
