Event Description:
The Kansas City Missouri Committee provides a forum for discussion of issues related to Kansas City, Missouri, and happenings from City Hall.
While the City is beginning the reopening process in response to COVID-19, cancellation of many sports and large scale events have had a severe impact on tourism with the region. What can the region anticipate the future of sports and tourism to look like as Kansas City, Missouri falls into a recession?
The committee is pleased to host Kathy Nelson, President & CEO of the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission and Jason Fulvi, President & CEO of Visit KC at the next KCMO Committee meeting on Tuesday, June 23 from 12:00 - 1:15 p.m. via Zoom. Both speakers will discuss the future of large scale events and the impact on tourism dollars in the wake of COVID-19, including the bid for the 2026 World Cup and the NFL Draft.
