Name:
Mental Wellness Expo 2022
Date:
May 5, 2022
Time:
1:00 PM - 6:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
Join us for the first annual Mental Wellness Expo. The event takes place Thursday, May 5, from 1-6 pm in the Ball Event Center in Olathe, Kansas. There’s never been a more important time to focus on mental health and wellness. A new survey shows that Americans are feeling more stress than ever before. This is due in part to the pandemic, money concerns, the war in Ukraine, and smartphone and social media use. Depression, anxiety, and suicide rates are rising among both teens and adults. Come listen to two panel discussions centered on addressing the mental wellness challenges we face in our new environment; learn how you can support mental health for yourself, your family, and your employees; and discover what mental health resources are available to help you! All of the details and the sign-up is at www.kvc.org/mentalwellness.
Some of the incredible organizations participating in this event are Children’s Mercy, Olathe Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, United Healthcare, Cigna, Humana, Johnson County Mental Health, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, KVC Hospitals, Warriors’ Ascent, Legacy Brokers, and many more. Plus, Martin City Brewing Company, Nick & Jake’s Restaurant, KC Cattle Company, BCCM, and First Federal Bank of Kansas City have donated funds or food/drinks to support the event and the cause of mental wellness.
The event is free to attend both in person and online, or for $10, you can get a wristband that allows you to taste more than a dozen kinds of chili in our fun chili cook-off among health insurance carriers and mental healthcare providers. Visit https://www.kvc.org/event/mentalwellness
