DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an information session about United WE's fast-growing Appointments Project\, a research-based\, tested and systematic approach that has resulted in more than 150 women being appointed to civic boards and commissions\, and women of color representing 34% of applicants. Through a landmark study\, United WE identified the barriers causing women to be underrepresented on civic boards and commissions and established the Appointments Project in 2014. The Appointments Project empowers women and strengthens communities by increasing the gender diversity of civic boards and commissions to better reflect the communities they serve.\n\n\n\nWe will hear the perspective and experiences of women that have been appointed to boards and commissions through the Appointments Project\, including Carolyn Watley (Jackson County Pension Plan Board of Trustees)\, Niki Lee Donawa (KC Health Care Foundation Community Advisory Committee)\, and Jennifer Ingraham (Missouri Community Service Commission).\n\n \n\n\n \n\nThank you to our 2021 Women's Leadership Sponsors!\n\nOur Presenting Sponsors are Bank Midwest and KPMG.
