Time cannot be seen\, heard\, smelled\, or touched. It eludes all our senses\, yet we experience it every day. Time is ubiquitous. To most\, time is just a clock on the wall. A constant cycle of 24 hours resetting and repeating over and over again in a continuous loop with seemingly no end. Weigandt's art gives form to these ideas in creative ways using art\, geology\, and quantum mechanics physics. An "event" (in Physics) is a moment specific to a place and time where a physical situation or occurrence is associated with a point in space-time.\n\nSeeking to combine the different ways Weigandt represents time\, she creates ?events? that bring together the representation of moments in time (tiny cubes) and the continuous cycle of time (big cubes) in site specific installations.\n\nThus\, in "The 5th Event"\, Weigandt will transform Cerbera Gallery for her next site specific ceramic installation\, April 5 - May 31.\n\nThrough Weigandt's installations\, viewers must actively engage their own interpretation of what time really is. This way of making allows Weigandt's work to be created in the present\, while always being a representation of time past. Like time itself\, Weigandt's work and these forms have no end in sight.\n\nWeigandt places each cube\, one by one\, in a grid along the floor. Being on the floor and same plane as the viewer forces the viewer to confront the work and to become consciously aware of their body in space and time\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWeigandts Awards Include:\n\n\n Susan Baley Docent Award\, 2018 - Oscar B.\n Jacobson Award\, 2017 - Fred Jones Jr.\n Museum of Art Association Award\, 2017\n\n\n\n\nFor all press inquires and group visits regarding "The 5th Event" by Danielle Weigandt\, contact Philipp Eirich or Kennedy Burgess at info@cerberagallery.com. We encourage local museums and art groups interested in private tours to book dates in advance since this exhibition will only be on view for a seven weeks. As usual on First Friday we'll have chilled background tunes coming from our very own DJ Deep House Cat and will be serving libations and snacks. Our doors will open at 4 pm\, so make sure you'll stop by!\n\nA Friendly Note from Lili Komondor:\n\nPhil usually shares our gallery news on Cerbera's official Facebook page.
