DESCRIPTION:Equity in Energy\n\nThe KC Chamber is proud to host and partner with The Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Economic Impact and Diversity (ED) for the presentation of the Equity in Energy initiative\, which focuses on the importance of increasing the interest and access to the energy economy for individuals in under-served communities. Equity in Energy is leading the charge in helping diversify the energy sector by supporting supplier diversity\, STEM enhancement\, workforce development\, energy sustainability\, and technical assistance.\n\n \n\nAttendees will hear presentations from DOE program offices\, including ED\, discussing the Departments "all of the above" strategy in both energy and human capital diversity.\n\n8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.\n\nThis event is free to attend.\n\n \n\nDiversity and Inclusion Workshop Series: Understanding a Supplier Diversity Program\n\nWho does your printing? Are you in search of an outside marketing company? Are you looking to hire a new video production crew? This session is designed for procurement specialists who want to support minority and women-owned business. Learn how to create a supplier diversity program to help your company connect and contract with certified minority-owned businesses for the services you need.\n\n\n\nThis is the last workshop in the 2019 Diversity and Inclusion Workshop Series. We will be recognizing those who have attended all four workshops in the series. \n\n11:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.\n\nThis event is free to attend.\n\nLunch is provided.
