DESCRIPTION:The KC Chamber is pleased to partner with the Overland Park and Kansas City\, Kansas Chambers of Commerce to host a special briefing just for business leaders on the business and bottom line impacts of Medicaid Expansion. \n\n\n\nLearn the business case for health reform with Rosemarie Day\, founder and CEO of Day Health Strategies and an expert and advisor on design and implementation of state health reform efforts. Day will discuss how states are structuring health reform strategies such as Medicaid expansion to address their population's needs and the documented economic effects of expansion on states. This program is designed to provide regional business leaders with insights into how Medicaid expansion contributes to business growth and workforce opportunities\, drawing on examples from other states. The topic is timely given active policy discussions in Kansas's executive and legislative branches regarding expansion.\n\n \n\nDay has served in several government roles in Massachusetts as the founding Deputy Director & Chief Operating Officer of the Health Connector in Massachusetts\, the nation's first state-run health insurance exchange\, and Chief Operating Officer for the Massachusetts Medicaid program\, covering more than one million members. She also held positions as the state's Assistant Secretary for Administration & Finance and Budget Director for the Department of Transitional Assistance. Since founding Day Health Strategies almost ten years ago\, she and her team have worked on transforming health care in over a dozen states.
