KANSAS CITY, Mo. (August 30, 2017) — In a ceremony held at its new, state-of-the-art clubhouse in the Kendallwood Apartments in Gladstone, Missouri, Curry Real Estate Services and Gladstone Mayor R.D. Mallams declared August 22, 2017 Anne Alexander Day. The event, held on Alexander’s 90th birthday, celebrated the City of Gladstone’s and Curry’s appreciation for her work in the community as well as her many years of dedicated loyalty to Curry and the Kendallwood property.

Ray Brock, chairman emeritus of Curry, said, “Anne has been an integral part of the Kendallwood community for nearly 10 years. We wanted to show our appreciation for her and her loyalty through the years.”

Brock and Mallams each presented Alexander with a proclamation. The Curry Real Estate Services proclamation read, in part, “This decision was made to show Curry’s appreciation to Anne for her many years of devoted and dedicated loyalty to Curry and the Kendallwood property. The Board collectively acknowledges Anne as a valued contributor to the on-going success at Kendallwood.”

Mayor R.D. Mallams said it was a joy to celebrate the occasion. “Anne is a great ambassador for the City of Gladstone and for Kendallwood apartments,” he said. “As a member of several Kansas City commissions, she has made decisions that are in the best interest of our community. As a thank you, we plan to display a portion of her artwork in the North corridor of City Hall.”

Alexander has lived at Kendallwood since 2007. Previously, she taught art in the North Kansas City area elementary schools, but now dedicates her free time to creating art in her apartment. Aside from her artwork, Alexander currently is serving her 16th year on the Gladstone Planning Commission and chaired the Tri-County Council on Domestic Violence.
