Name: Bridging the Digital Divide for Equitable Education: A Learning Session
Date: August 13, 2020
Time: 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM CDT
Registration: Sorry, online registration for this event has been closed.
Event Description:
With the COVID-19 pandemic challenging societal norms around education, one issue that has been magnified in our region is access to technology and internet services, particularly in under-resourced communities. As students around the nation shift to a virtual learning experience to start the new school year, digital equity becomes increasingly more important to ensure that the most vulnerable students do not fall behind through distance learning. The digital divide presents a need for the community to continue to address issues around internet connectivity, cost, access to equipment and training.

Please join the KC Chamber and the Urban Neighborhood Initiative as we discuss the issue of digital equity with education and civic leaders throughout the region. This session will offer pathways of engagement for businesses to help bridge the digital divide in Kansas City.
