Event Description:
In observation of Welcoming Week, Communities Concerned for Immigrants and Refugees (CCIR) is sponsoring this presentation to enhance understanding of U.S. policies and procedures that impact refugee arrivals to the United States, as well as Afghan Special Immigrant Visa recipients.

Keynote speaker is Kristen Aster of the International Rescue Committee (IRC). Kristen Aster is the Resettlement, Asylum, and and Integration (RAI) headquarters Director for Client and Community Engagement, supporting more than 26 IRC offices across the United States and Europe.

Additionally, a recently arrived refugee to KC and Directors from the three local resettlement agencies; Catholic Charities, Della Lamb and Jewish Vocational Services will participate in a panel discussion of federally mandated services and local activities that support a Welcoming KC.
