Plagued by political, social, and economic turmoil, 2020 has served as the great revealer of undeniable systemic racism, racial inequities, and deepening political divides throughout the history of the United States and our current society.  This climate has made it increasingly difficult for DEI professionals to effectively convey the importance of unity in a time where we need it most.  As our nation turns a new page, how do we mend relationships and repair perspectives impacted by recent chaos/turmoil?  More importantly, we must ask ourselves how do address DEI issues in a civil manner?  This symposium will explore ways to come together as we work to bring our communities and nation back together.  
 
We will be joined by experts across the Kansas City area as we dive into the important topics such as:  

• COVID-19 and its impacts on Communities of Color  
• Creating Allies through Chaos  
• Disparities in the fundamental right of Education 
• How Economic Development is working to create a more equitable Kansas City  

 
We will also be joined by our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Andrea Hendricks, Senior Executive Director of Global Diversity and Inclusion Strategy for Cerner, as we try to answer the ever important, and deeply personal question of “Where do we go from here?”
