Time: 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM CDT

Event Description:
As Kansas City students poured back into schools last fall, many believed the most disruptive effects of the COVID-19 pandemic had finally receded. But long-term impacts of the pandemic are still very much with us when it comes to student outcomes and learning.

The KC Chamber's Business For Education Committee invites you to join us June 22 for our first Education Data for Action Summit where we will hear from urban education researchers about how the Kansas City Missouri Public Education System (KCPES including district and charters) is faring and dialogue about opportunities to improve student outcomes. This event will focus on KCPES and include the most recent student performance data. During this time, we’ll also provide an analysis of the trends.  Our goal is to ensure area business leaders have the most up-to-date data to strengthen dialogues on student achievement and the workforce pipeline, and set the stage for community-wide action to support data-informed policy and advocacy toward improving outcomes for our students and families.

Dr. Karin Chang, UMKC Center for Urban Education Research
Dr. Angelique Nedved, SchoolSmartKC
Noah Devine, KC Action Fund
