Growing Futures Early Education Center is a nonprofit Head Start program that exists to serve and impact roughly 800 individuals in Johnson County, Kansas (223 of which are children, ages 0-5). Not only do we offer early education opportunities, but enrolled children receive onsite dental exams, vision screenings, therapies and more, while families also receive support that helps pull them out of poverty. All enrolled families live 100% BELOW the federal poverty level.
Growing Futures wraps our arms around the entire family to help them with kindergarten readiness, while eliminating some of the barriers that exist when living in poverty. In the 2022-2023 program year, 52 children graduated our program, achieving 93% kindergarten readiness. The national standard is around 33% of children enter kindergarten ready.
