About The American Royal
The American Royal is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to be the nation's leader for food and agriculture education, events, and engagement. The American Royal provides opportunities for nearly half a million youth and adults from around the world to engage in high-quality events and experiences, including nationally competitive livestock shows, the world's largest barbeque competition, regional and national equine shows, youth and professional rodeos and elementary and secondary education outreach.
About Cutting
One of the world’s fastest growing equine sports, Cutting offers tremendous excitement for horse, rider, and spectators alike! The competition consists of horse and rider separating a particular cow from a herd. Spectators will see a dance like performance between cow and horse. The National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) provides the means by which contestants are judged by maintaining a point system which gives definite credits and penalties while providing a fair basis for judging cutting horses and their riders. Saturday evening features our Open and Non-Pro Showcase. Sunday evening will feature a Saddle Shootout where the top rider will walk away with a branded American Royal saddle
