Rebuild Honestly: Black Women in Sports

Name: Rebuild Honestly: Black Women in Sports
Date: April 19, 2023
Time: 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
Event Description:

Women’s sports reached unprecedented heights in 2022 with record breaking achievements of female athletes and industry professionals shining a light on the impact and growth of women in the sports industry. We also witnessed many Americans rally around the release of basketball star Brittney Griner who’s detention in Russia highlighted both the strength and struggle in women’s sports. Despite where anyone stood on the issue, it was hard to deny the clear inequities in women’s sports that lead many professional female athletes like Griner to supplement their income by playing overseas. While women’s contributions and recognition within the sports industry continue to rise, there are still clear disparities in financial support, visibility and infrastructure. So how do we evolve the industry to create the even playing field that female athletes deserve?

Join BXKC for our next Rebuild Honestly forum featuring a panel of local sports industry leaders who will share insights on the growth and impact of women sports, their experiences working in this field and how we continue to open doors for more women to dominate the industry.
