Job Description

Saint Luke’s is looking for experienced Cardiology Registered Nurse to join our team full-time. Under the direct supervision of the Cardiologist, the Cardiac Stress Nurse performs cardiac stress testing. This position has direct supervision of exercise and pharmacologic stress testing for both inpatients and outpatients in the nuclear cardiology laboratory. This involves advanced history and physical assessment skills, advanced ECG, arrhythmia interpretation, recognition and will also directly handle radioactive materials.  M-F Day shift, no call, no weekend, and no holidays.

This position is located at Saint Luke's East in Lee's Summit. This position works 4 - 8 hour shifts per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes the nursing process. 
  • Reviewing charts for compliance with test required.
  • Explaining procedures to patients/provide patient education.
  • Initiate IV placement as needed.
  • Administer and document medications as ordered.
  • Acquire patient history.
  • Perform billing duties.
  • Delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff. 
  • Coordinates the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.

Job Requirements:

Applicable Experience:

  • 2 years
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Various
  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing
