Base Pay: $13.50 / Hour
Employee Type: Non Exempt PT

DESCRIPTION

The Strategic Partnerships department of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce is seeking a self-motivated intern to assist with a variety of projects and tasks that support the KC Chamber’s mission. This internship will support the Strategic Partnerships department and take direction from the KC Chamber’s Member Experience Manager. This internship includes both independent work and opportunities for collaborative projects and high visibility interactions with business and community leaders.

The internship duties will vary but may include the following:

  • Board Room & Conference Room rental preparations and day-of rental tasks
  • Small Business Celebration events preparations and attendance
  • Database management
  • Networking and interactions with business and community leaders
  • Member engagement tasks

Internships with the KC Chamber are paid and offer valuable hands-on experience which allows students to explore areas of interest and decide if this is an area for a potential career. Class credit is available to students.

REQUIREMENTS

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills including high levels of both written and spoken English language
  • Self-directed, possess effectual critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in various social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
