For 2018, financial commitments will benefit: ArtsKC, Joplin Regional Artists Coalition, Northtowne Arts Coalition, Kansas City Artists Coalition, American Jazz Museum, Kansas City Jazz ALIVE, Kansas City Jazz Ambassadors, UMKC Jazz Friends, Sister City Association of Kansas City, Czech & Slovak Club of Kansas City, Halo Foundation, Synergy Services, MainCor, Pilgrim Center, KLL Memorial Foundation, BikeWalkKC, Penn Valley Park Conservancy, Friends of Konza Prairie, American Royal, Friends of KC Animals, American Association of Equine Practitioners, United States Equestrian Federation, United States Dressage Federation, KC Dressage Society, Kansas City Blues and Unified FC.

Buttonwood Art Space continues to raise money for artists and non-profits with the current exhibit; Visions of the Flint Hills continuing through November 17, 2017. The gallery exhibition includes 165 pieces of art by 74 different artists. All artwork is derived from and inspired by the Flint Hills of Kansas. Each purchase of art benefits Friends of Konza Prairie (FOKP), a nonprofit friends group of K-State. 50% of the sale price compensates artists for their beautiful work with the remaining 50% benefiting FOKP.

More than 30 pieces of art have been sold, firmly placing FOKP’s budget for 2018 in great condition. The next exhibition will benefit Kansas City Artists Coalition and will be on exhibit December 1, 2017 – January 26, 2018.

Buttonwood Financial Group, LLC is an independent wealth management firm based in Kansas City, Missouri. Buttonwood works closely with individuals and families to simplify the complexity that comes with wealth. The Buttonwood Team serves as a Family CFO, coordinating and implementing tax, insurance, estate, investment, cash flow, retirement, education and business strategies to achieve client specific goals.

Buttonwood Art Space (BAS) is financially supported and underwritten by Buttonwood Financial Group (BFG). In a traditional Art gallery setting a percentage of sales goes to the artist and a percentage of sales is retained by the gallery. At Buttonwood, operating costs of Art Space are paid by Financial Group so the portion of sales that would traditionally go to a gallery go back instead to the non-profit organizations for each show. This allows us to partner with non-profits so they can raise money and awareness of their cause through art exhibitions. As the non-profits invite their supporters (who attend and purchase art), our email / social media list grows allowing for greater community-focused attendance at future Buttonwood art shows. Goal:  A win for artists (sales), a win for non-profits ($ / awareness), a win for community (buy art & receive the opportunity for a tax deduction as well), and a win for us (awareness).
