Merger with Blue Hills Community Services Solidifies Position as Kansas City's Largest Urban Developer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (June 4, 2018) – Swope Community Builders, a 501(c)(3) Community Development Corporation with nearly thirty years of extensive, mission-based development has changed its name to Community Builders of Kansas City (CBKC). As Kansas City’s largest urban core developer, the organization remains unwavering in efforts to reclaim neighborhoods by developing quality housing and related services. Since 1991, CBKC has developed more than $225 million of urban renewal projects in Kansas City, earning recognition and respect on the national community development stage.

Effective May 31, 2018, the merger ensures that BHCS’ assets will continue to serve the community. The newly combined organization will be headquartered at 4001 Blue Parkway in Kansas City, Mo., in the heart of the Brush Creek Corridor anchored among one of its signature development projects.
